LT Jarrett Parker graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research and Computer Analysis. His first assignment was serving as student engineer officer aboard the 378' USCGC Jarvis home-ported in Honolulu, Hawaii. During this tour, he supervised three dry docks of the cutter and made one patrol in the bearing sea during the filming of the hit TV series, "Deadliest Catch." In 2008, LT Parker transferred to the USCG Research and Development Center in New London, Connecticut as the Naval Engineering Subject Matter Expert. He developed the Biometric at Sea System, used simulation and modeling on a Fleet Mix Analysis Study of the effects of budget cuts on the entire Coast Guard with results presented to Congress. He deployed as part of the response team to Deepwater Horizon. Afterwardsin 2011, LT Parker was accepted into the Coast Guard Industrial Management Program and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute earning a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering and Technology Management. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Industrial Manager of Industrial Production Facility Detroit and Industrial Production Detachment Sault Ste Marie in Michigan. He was responsible for planning and executing all the depot-level maintenance in District 9 (Great Lakes) and deployed in response to Superstorm Sandy. He currently teaches in the Department of Mathematics at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and is the Surfing Club advisor.
